We're gonna Need a Bigger boat

I've always been into nerdy stuff. When I was nine years old, I distinctly remember placing my tape recorder next to our tv and recording Star Trek TOS so I could listen to it later [we didn't have a VCR yet - in fact, I do'nt even think I knew what a VCR was - yes smurflings, I'm that old].

To this day, Leonard Nimoy's voice makes me all sleepy and secure. He used to narrate a lot of stuff on A&E and other channels and in highschool, if I was sick, I could usually find something on that he was narrating and zonk out for a few hours.

Sadly, I've never really had a lot of friends who shared my nerdiness. My current RL BFF, D, is the closest. She tolerates my nerdiness with something like amused fondness, at one point even marveling that I seemed so normal on the outside.

I tried to explain to her that I'm really not even that nerdy. I'm like a 5 out of 10 on the scale. A fact she didn't believe, I don't think, until she started watching the Big Bang Theory.

And then I met [kind of, in an internet-y way] neros_violin and she's nerdy like me. We liked almost all the same shows and books and gushed over the same things. She was the only one of my friends who understood that new BSG CHANGED SCIFI TV FOREVER.

So when I saw a video of Jeffster playing at last year's comic-con, I sent her an email and said that I was prepared to go and buy a ticket if she was into it.

And she was like, HALES YES.

That was last August and I dutifully checked the internet until tix went on sale and purchased them! I was in awe. I. was. going. to. Comic-con.

and now it's almost here! I was looking at twasadark 's post about her past trip to comic-con and checking out the links she posted [in a comment to me]. zombie walk! Slasher dinner! I HAD NO IDEA.

The only thing that could make me MORE EXCITED was if I had known about the Dark Shadows event that tonicollins mentioned to me. then I would have gone earlier and gone to that [since my current WIP for deancasbigbang is a Dark Shadows fusion with SPN.]

I keep checking the official website for the program. We're type A people! we need to know the schedule!

Comic-con!

OMG, I'm watching the Jeffster video again and I can't stand it. Those guys kill me.
